Youth For Blood (YFB) is a youth-led, non-profit organization founded in 2011 in Biratnagar, Nepal. The organization emerged from a real-life incident involving two college students who faced difficulties in finding blood for a relative in need. This experience highlighted the urgent need for a systematic approach to blood donation, leading to the establishment of YFB. The organization aims to manage fresh blood donations for people in need, free of charge. Over the years, YFB has grown its network to include over 50,000 blood donors across Nepal, facilitating the donation of more than 6,000 pints of blood and maintaining 3,000 standby donors to save lives.
YFB organizes regular blood donation camps, awareness campaigns, and educational programs to promote the importance of voluntary blood donation. The organization's efforts have not only addressed the blood shortage crisis but also fostered a sense of community and social responsibility among young people. By leveraging social media and other platforms, YFB has effectively mobilized volunteers and donors, ensuring timely support for those in need and contributing significantly to Nepal's healthcare system.
