Kali Mandir is in the main market of Biratnagar. At present, the temple looks very grand with a three-tiered roof. But its initial form was completely different. Before moving to this place from Rangeli, the headquarters of Morang, V. No.

It is believed that the Kali temple was established around the 1960s. But in the beginning, this temple was of a simple form, in which a small single temple with a tin roof is found. Later V.No. Around the year 2000, a devotee rebuilt a large-scale Kali temple using lime and bricks. At that time, a copper idol of Kali was offered here. The dilapidated idol before that is currently kept on the lower floor of the temple. Recently, the new statue of Kali placed on the top floor of the temple is regularly worshiped.

The present temple was built by the local residents. It was built in 2053. The Kali temple in Biratnagar attracts a huge crowd of devotees during the Nauratha of Dashain. Navratha is considered to be the appropriate time for reciting Durga Saptashati, keeping Jamra and performing animal sacrifice. At other times also there is a crowd of devotees in this temple. Since it is located in the middle of the market, more people go here. Especially on Saturday, there is a large presence of devotees. The Kali idols of Rangeli and Biratnagar were brought from India at the same time.
