The Rukum West Distribution Center is a critical division of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) responsible for electric power distribution and grid expansion in Western Rukum, Karnali Province. Its contact number is listed under the Karnali Province’s NEA regional contacts as 088-530438.

One of its key roles is accelerating the electrification of remote areas. For example, it works to increase the reach of central electricity transmission to tens of thousands of households at one point, some 21,855 houses in Rukum West had been connected, while many more awaited service extension.
The center also engages in line expansion, substation construction (such as the proposed Bhampu Chaur substation), and re-electrification programmes to bring consistency and reliability to power supply. Additionally, it has to respond to emergency repairs (such as after natural disasters), maintain voltage and infrastructure integrity, and coordinate with local governments for planning and implementation.
