Patan High Court is one of the High Courts of Nepal and serves as an important appellate judicial body within the country’s court system. It hears appeals from decisions made by District Courts under its jurisdiction and ensures that legal procedures and judgments comply with the Constitution and existing laws. By reviewing lower court rulings, the court helps maintain consistency, fairness, and justice in the legal process.

The court also holds writ jurisdiction, enabling individuals to seek remedies for violations of fundamental rights. Through constitutional writs such as habeas corpus and mandamus, Patan High Court plays a key role in protecting citizens’ rights and holding public authorities accountable. This function strengthens the rule of law and promotes transparent governance.

In addition to its judicial responsibilities, Patan High Court supervises and monitors subordinate courts to improve judicial efficiency and administration. It manages case records, publishes cause lists and decisions, and provides facilities for judges, lawyers, and litigants. Through these combined roles, Patan High Court contributes significantly to building public confidence in Nepal’s justice system.
