Hospital Chowk-7, Biratnagar Metropolitian City, Morang, Koshi Pradesh+977-21-514234
Looking at the history of the public health service hospital, Koshi Hospital is 130 years old and the oldest hospital in Nepal. In 1947 B.S., Bir Shamsher reached the west through different parts of the country by keeping the number from the east. In the meantime, pi bir hospitals were opened in different places in the same year, but after the establishment of this hospital, bir hospital of Kathmandu was established. Established in 1927 B.S. as the headquarters of Morang district, rangeli bazaar had most of the government offices.
It is clear from the records that 1 Lumbar P Bir Hospital, established in 1947 BS, was established in the same place. The hospital was shifted to Biratnagar in 1971 BS when the district headquarters was shifted to Biratnagar. The p. was carved with fine letters on smooth wood. The sign board of the hospital with Bir 1 Lumbar written on it is still safe in the hospital. The word 'P' means Prithvi Bir Bikram and the word 'Bir' means 'Bir Shamsher'.
At that time, it is understood that there was a tradition of naming things of public importance by the joint name of both the king and the Rana (Prime Minister). Apart from this, bir hospital has been certified as the oldest hospital in Nepal on the basis of all the facts and evidence mentioned in the souvenir published on the occasion of 100 years.
