The Supreme Court of Nepal is the highest judicial authority in the country, serving as the final interpreter of the Constitution and laws. It has appellate jurisdiction over the seven High Courts and exercises extraordinary original jurisdiction. The court comprises twenty Justices and a Chief Justice and functions as a court of record, setting legal principles and precedents that must be followed by all lower courts and judicial institutions.

The Supreme Court also has supervisory powers, allowing it to inspect, guide, and issue directives to subordinate courts regarding judicial administration and management.
