Sahid Rangasala, also known as Sahid Maidan, is a multi-purpose stadium located in Biratnagar, Koshi Province, Nepal. It has a seating capacity of 15,000 spectators and serves as the home ground for the Morang XI and Biratnagar City football clubs. The stadium was originally opened in 1969 and underwent significant renovations in 2019 to host the SAFF Women's Championship.
The stadium has hosted various important events, including the Seventh National Games and the Birat Gold Cup. It also features a grass surface and floodlights for night matches. Sahid Rangasala is a key sports venue in the region, contributing to the development and promotion of football in Nepal.
Sahid Rangasala is the largest stadium in the Eastern Development Zone of Nepal, with a capacity of 10,000 spectators. This multi-purpose stadium, located in Biratnagar, serves as the home ground for the Morang 11 football club. It has three main entrances, and its facilities have hosted a variety of events, including the 7th National Games in 2073, various agricultural fairs, and the 2019 SAFF Women's Championship, for which it was specifically upgraded.
The Nepal government allocated an 8.7 million NPR budget through the Ministry of Sports for the stadium's reconstruction. Key features include solar lighting, special seating areas, a well-arranged parking system, a tennis court, and a media center. The stadium has a rich history, having first hosted the Mahendranagar Gold Cup (now Virat Gold Cup) in 1961. Recent upgrades also added player changing rooms and a conference room for journalists, enhancing its status as a prominent sports venue in Nepal.
